Factors that could Negate All Cover
As with any major metropolitan area throughout the world, there are standard precautions that should be taken to ensure a safe and pleasant stay.

Review your maps and other visitor information before leaving the car rental area or elsewhere.

Always be aware of your surroundings. Establish how to reach your destination prior to departure.

In the rare event that you are approached by a stranger demanding your valuables, do not resist, your well being is more important than your belongings.

Always use the safety belts in the vehicle. It is law in South African and may save your life in the event of an accident. Drinking and driving laws are strictly enforced in South Africa and penalties are high.

Do not give strangers a ride under any circumstances. Always be aware of pedestrian traffic around your vehicle. Always park in well lit areas, and make sure that you have your keys with you.

NEVER give the keys of your vehicle to anyone other than a Europcar representatives. All Europcar staff members can be identified by their uniform.

Toll roads operate on major routes. Charges range from R3.00 per vehicle to R50.00 per vehicle. Payments can be made either by cash, or by major credit cards.

If you intend traveling from South Africa to any neighbouring countries in southern African, authorization must first be obtained in writing from Europcar when taking delivery of your vehicle. Failure to obtain such authority will result in insurance cover being negated.

FACTORS THAT COULD NEGATE ALL COVER

Gross or criminal negligence.

No other vehicle involved in the collision unless exceptional circumstances apply.

Unauthorized drivers - i.e. names of additional drivers not listed on the rental agreement.

Not obtaining authorization from Europcar to extend the rental.

Not reporting an accident to Europcar immediately.

Not adhering to traffic, road and driving rules and regulations.

Driving under the influence of alcohol or any illegal substance.
-
Unsuitable driving or road conditions.
-
Unauthorized cross border rentals.

Not being able to produce keys in case of theft unless exceptional circumstances apply.

Not reporting exact details of the last known location of the vehicle prior to theft.

Not reporting the loss to Europcar within 6 hours.
