ON SAFARI
Tinga
vehicles have access to the entire Kruger National Park, so you’re
sure to meet all the locals, including Lion, Leopard, Elephant,
Buffalo, Black and White Rhino, Cheetah, Zebra, Waterbuck, Hippo,
Wildebeest, Kudu, Crocodile and an assortment of birds and reptiles.
Tinga
vehicles also have exclusive access to 5000 hectares within the Tinga
concession. Off-road driving is permitted here and is done in a very
controlled manner to minimize the impact on the environment. Tinga is
constantly monitored by SAN Parks ecologists.
The
Tinga concession is situated between the Sabie and Sand rivers. This
is a premier game-viewing area, boasting the highest density of
leopards in Africa. This is due to the large numbers of impala that
occur in the area – 95/km2.
With
water permanently available, and a lot of suitable prey species, the
area is also very attractive to lions. Lions and leopards are
territorial, and because Tinga is prime habitat, there is a large
amount of predator activity.
Tinga is
also privileged to have frequent sightings of endangered species such
as black rhino and wild dog. With total world populations of less than
3000 each, this is certainly something special.
Birdlife
is very prolific in the area, with over 300 species being recorded,
including numerous specials, making it a birdwatching paradise. The
array of interesting fauna and flora enhance every game drive and walk
Safari
outings offer a Unique Eco-Experience and include:
At least
85 % of guests get to see all of the Big Five on a two-night stay.
